Support for Visitors to Jersey

To access District Nursing Services whilst visiting Jersey, a written referral from one of the following professionals is required:

  • your doctor / GP
  • any hospital
  • other district/community nursing agencies
  • other health professional not mentioned above

Nursing care can only be provided if the person has registered with a GP in Jersey, who will take on medical responsibility.

District nursing services available (subject to resource availability):

  • wound care
  • medication and pain management
  • continence services
  • stoma care
  • diabetic management
  • continuing nursing care in the home – available upon detailed discussion

Fees and Charges

  • Clinic appointments will incur a minimum charge of £25 per appointment. Additional appointment time in excess of 30 minutes will be charged @ £12.50 per 15 minute unit
  • Home visits will be charged a minimum charge of £50 per visit. Additional time in excess of 1 hour will be charged @ £50 per 15 minute unit.
  • Time will also be charged for non-face-to-face contact e.g. liaising with GP and other medical professionals.
  • Patients need to supply their own dressings and specialist equipment including stoma and continence products and enteral feeding products, and will be invoiced for routine consumables.
  • The cost of any equipment required to aid care will also be the responsibility of the patient.
  • Missed appointments will be charged at the appropriate minimum charge for home visits/clinic visits, unless at least 24 hours’ notice is given. These charges may be waived in exceptional circumstances at our discretion.
  • Please note that we do not correspond/send invoices to medical insurers on the patient’s behalf.
  • Fees are invoiced to the patient and should be settled by the patient and claimed back (if applicable) from their health insurer.
  • Invoices are due and payable on receipt. Failure to pay will result in the issuance of debt proceedings.
  • In certain circumstances a deposit or full payment in advance may be required in advance of undertaking any care.
