criteria: You must be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with extensive knowledge and experience of developing and implementing financial controls and procedures. You will have proven leadership skills to lead ad develop a small but strategic team including the fundraising and finance teams. Essentially you have skills in data management, analysis, appraisal and evaluation. Previous experience in charity organisations is beneficial.

The Role:

  • Be a visionary leader and role model within our leadership team with a commitment to building effective relationships at all levels across Jersey and beyond
  • Provide professional leadership reporting to the CEO for the financial management, business development & facilities to ensure best outcomes, statutory and donor compliance, and fostering a business partnering approach
  • Deliver financial strategy, overseeing comprehensive budgeting, cash flow management and regulatory compliance
  • co-ordinate business and strategic developments across all services to ensure strategic and operational requirements are met and corporate governance is maintained

The Person:

  • A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with extensive knowledge and experience of developing and implementing financial controls and procedures
  • An effective financial manager who sets the right professional and accounting standards with proven leadership skills to lead and develop a small and strategically influential team promoting high performance and professional growth while ensuring the charities finances are properly managed. Able to ensure that all operational resources are efficiently and appropriately used supporting best value
  • Ability to manage efficient and effective leadership of a FNHC estates strategy, leasing/tenancy agreements, contracts and the organisation’s insurances
  • Skills in data management, analysis, appraisal and evaluation, the development of recommendations and the ability to produce clear and concise reports/presentations to support planning, forecasting, financial modelling and budgeting

Demands for leading development

  • FNHC needs to progress further its leadership as a trusted advisor in the Jersey in how health outcomes are improved on a best value basis, advising on all matters impacting the health economics of Jersey
  • Lead the integration of stakeholders, both internal and external, taking a whole system holistic approach as opportunities allow, to support best outcomes for islanders

Objectives, responsibilities and key tasks

  • Effectively manage the financial resources of FNHC
  • play a significant role in contributing to the delivery of our vision, ambition and performance targets in the strategy
  • lead and direct the FNHC’s stakeholder management programme
  • proactively respond to appropriate advice, guidance, and challenge from key stakeholders, including the Chair, Board and Senior Executives, ensuring that the services we provide meet expectations
  • ensure clear, effective and impactful communication within FNHC and between FNHC and its external stakeholders, including statutory panels, government bodies, and the wider public

ensure FNHC demonstrates high standards of corporate governance, and that FNHC is compliant with all involved regulatory bodies, legal requirements the Charities Commission Governance Code.

Ensure your team demonstrate the FNHC values in how they work together, building effective relationships within FNHC and with key stakeholders.

Build the capabilities and reputation of your Team and that of FNHC as an organisation, to further develop funding streams and volunteering opportunities

Maximise FNHC efficiency through process mapping and cost analysis

Expected longer-term achievement 2 years

Demonstrate the added value of the corporate functions that in turn help us to deliver, achieve and sustain high performance of the wider organisation.

Successful engagement with new FNHC partners to further develop best health outcomes for islanders and sustainable community health care services
